  • Introduction
    ----------------------------------------------Introduction-------------------------------------------------------- Your name is Ribald. You were born in Terlerus, a small village in the Bracada Highlands. Because you were an orphan and never knew your parents; you had been adopted by Xardas, a wizard. He had been like a father to you and had taught you everything you know about magic and spells. But one dark day, he died. And after his death, you decided to embrace in a life of adventure. Soon afterwards, you received a message from King Tymwer XVI whereupon he asked you and all other adventurers to defend the Kingdom of Shar from the Xenian Barbarians. You (and some hired mercenaries) had taken the first boat to Shar. But it seems that something is wrong...
  • Pyramids
    What a magnificent building it`s the pyramid! Xardas told some stories about pharaohs and their servants. It looks like pharaohs never wanted common people to learn magic. So they had taken the secrets of their spells to their grave. They also left some guardians to defend their wealth. As almighty wizards, the pharaohs left golems to defend their corpses. But not usual golems like I had seen in Bracada (the ones that are made from stone and iron), they leaved special golems that were made from precious materials like gold and diamond. From what Xardas told me, these golems were almost immune to magic, especially the diamond ones. I saw a pyramid on the southern side of the Shar Islands. I wonder what will happen if I enter this pyramid...

    You awake in a sweat. What a strange dream you had! You were greeted by a hideous demon like some creature that was from Hell. Hell looked so real! The floor was made of lava, the rivers were of fire. The demon creature was silent. You tried to speak to her, but you soon realized that you no longer had a mouth! You heard a hideous laughter in your head. What a nightmare! What could it all mean? Thank God it was just a nightmare. You should never eat before you go to bed because it always gives you nightmares.
  • Green Dragon
    Rumors speak about a Green Dragon that inhabits Shar. Some say that it defends 4 artifacts. Xardas told me many legends about Green Dragons. These majestic creatures inhabit the woodlands of AvLee. They are quite powerful, but other dragons are more powerful like the Gold, Red and Black Dragon. I should investigate and see what this dragon defends.

    You had another nightmare last night. It was the same nightmare that you had last week. The same lava floor, the same fire ocean and the same demon creature. What could it mean? Could it be the fault of the 'Dark One?
  • The Angels
    Yesterday I heard a strange rumor among my troops. Some say that the Angels have a home somewhere in Shar. I should seek them and ask their help in my quest for finding the Dark One and the king. They would probably join me in my quest. But the angels don't give their help to just any one. I am more then sure they would give me a test before they join my army.
  • Artificier
    I heard another rumor today. One of my monks told me about an artificer. He is a bizarre man, but he could transform weaker artifacts into a single cool artifact. Too bad that his home is overrun by bloody trolls. I should seek him. He would surely be very content if I kill the trolls. Perhaps he could transform the lesser artifacts that I find in the Green Dragon's hoard for FREE!
  • Ermania, the land of Gremlins
    Yesterday, I found a strange book. The book contains many Sharian legends. One of them seems intriguing. It tells a legend about the gremlin land of Ermania. It seems that Ermania is the home to Gremlins. The Gremlins are very smart (yet, quite greedy and evil) creatures. Some of them even live in Bracada. I should investigate to see if this legend is true.
  • Help the villagers
    You received a message today. It was signed by the mayor of Cornembury. He writes that the undead have invaded his little village. He also states that you must hurry to save the poor peasants! This must surely be the hand of the Dark One! You send some gold their way so they can defend themselves until you arrive.

    Last night I had another nightmare. But this nightmare was different from the others. The ambience was the same. But this time you saw Xardas. He was trying to speak with you, but you could not hear his words. He kept speaking and speaking. You tried to answer again and again, but you found you had no mouth and no ears. Afterwards, you woke up screaming. I don't know how much longer I can stand these nightmares.
  • The Guild War
    Today you found a strange book. It's called Honor among Thieves. It has such an odd name. It's well known that thieves have no honor. Still, I had read some interesting things here: ... the guild leader that transforms himself into an undead must be killed because he will destroy the reputation of the guild. ...no thief shall steal anything from another brother thief This is very interesting. I never thought that thieves had rules!
  • Gold Golems
    Many rumors circulate around Xenia. Some rumors speak about the Gold Golems. It seems that they defend some abandoned mines in the south-eastern region of Xenia. No one can rememberr how long they have defended the abandoned mines. It seems that they were put there to by the Ancestors (an ancient race that seems too disappeared thousands of years ago. Also it's known that they were the most advanced race of entire Antagarich) to defend the mines. I should check these mines out because it would bring me a huge economical advantage.
  • Some info about the Xenians
    Yesterday I had the chance to consult the remaining manuscripts in the Quel`Shar public library. In one of them I found something about the Xenian Barbarians. They inhabit the lands of Xenia (the name of their homeland and their name comes from their first leader Xenius). Many races live in these lands of Xenia: Goblins (a race of small green humanoids), Orcs (barbarian humanoids that enjoy bloodshed), and Ogres (the smartest race that inhabits Xenia, they are well known for their spell casting abilities), and Cyclopses (huge one-eyed humanoids that use boulders as weapons because they have such huge strength). Also, it seems, they've managed to domesticate local creatures like wolves (it seems that they are used in their cavalry), Thunderbirds (huge winged beasts that can send thunder to their enemies) and the most powerful creature of Xenia: the Behemoth. If I begin an expedition into Xenia, I better be well prepared.
  • Some info about the Bracadian Outcasts
    Yesterday I found a strange book about Bracada. Among many stories I found, a strange story called The Fall of Valshar proved to be very interesting: In the land of Bracada, Valshar was a great wizard. He was a good friend of Gavin Magnus until he tried to kill him and take the Throne of Bracada. After Gavin Magnus found who the author of the regide attempt was, he exiled Valshar and his allies to the faraway lands of Shar.

    The dreams are getting worse and worse every night. I have begun to hate sleeping. In yesterdays dream, the demonic figure began talking to me. Unfortunately, he speaks in a strange language that I do not understand. Is the Dark One trying to communicate with me?
  • The Black Naga
    Today you heard another strange story. The story of the cursed Black Naga. Many years ago, a naga wanted to become powerful. So bad, that she sold her soul to a Genie. As a reward, the genie transformed here into a Black Naga. Some say that she found a home to the cold lands of the Snowlands.
  • Sermonxus
    Yesterday I read another good book: The Kings of Shar. In this book I found the history of every king of Shar from the beginning of the world since Tyrwen XVI. One story captivated me the most. The story of Sermonxus. It looks as if Sermonxus was one of the greatest mortals that ever walked the lands of Shar. He was a great warrior and a great wizard. But, like every mortal, he eventually died. Now, here comes the interesting part: As a sign of respect, Sermonxus was buried in the lands of the Keepers, an underground valley that had taken his name, which now calls itself the valley of Sermonxus. From then on, every great hero of Shar was mummified and buried in the valley of Sermonxus.
  • Some info about the Keepers
    Today I read another book. This was by far one of the most interesting books that I've ever read. It's called: The Legends of the Keepers. This book explains who the Keepers are. The book says that the Keepers were one of the first races that walked Shar. Their society is dictated by Red and Black Dragons. Also, it seems, they are convinced that the rest of the Underground races will join them: the Troglodytes (blind little humanoids), the Harpies (winged women that use their claws as weapons), the Beholder (this creature is similar to the cyclops, except that the Beholders are by far weaker then the Cyclopes. The Beholder shoots a ray from its eye.), the Medusas (a race of women that could petrify any man simply by looking into his eyes), the Minotaurs (a strange creature that is half human and half bull), the Manticores (some strange winged venomous beasts that joined the Keepers). These Keepers are very strong! I just hope that I will not meet any of them in my quest.
  • The Dragon Island
    I wonder what the strange island in the Sharian Ocean contains? I see no way to enter it using magic or using boats. Perhaps I'll find a portal that will lead me to that island. I heard rumors about a island in the Sharian Ocean inhabitated by Dragons. Also some people say that the holy Grail is located on the Dragon Island. Could this strange island be the Dragon Island?
  • Some info about Sernia
    Today I finished reading another book. This book was about the creatures that inhabit the Sernain Forest. Many creature inhabit the forest of Shar from the mighty Gold Dragons to the little Dwarves. Most of these creatures are also found in the woodlands of AvLee. I just hope that I'll have a chance to visit this exotic land.
  • The Cloak of the Undead Kings
    Many evil things lurk in the lands of Shar. One of them is the Cloak of Undead King. This evil artifact is created from the Amulet of Undertaker, the Vampire's Cowl and the Dead Man's boots. I should find this evil artifact and destroy it. This cloak has a grim history that begins with its creation. It was created by Kexmer, one of the first Deyjan Kings. The Cloak helped Kexmer win many battles with the Erathians, but one day a worthy hero (too bad that I cannot recall his name) managed to enter Kexmer`s place and steal the cloak while Kexmer was sleeping (this is very strange, because I always thought that Undead creatures don't sleep). The hero was corrupted by the power of the cloak. With his last powers he killed himself. After which the Cloak disappeared. No one knows where or how, but the components of the Cloak are scattered about the lands of Shar. I should find the artifact and destroy it before more heroes fall within its evil power.
  • Some info about the Swamp People
    You finished another book today. This book was about the Swamp People. They are one of the first inhabitants of Shar. They are called Swamp People because they live in the Swamplands (and the mapmaker does not have any imagination). In that land, you can find Gnolls (little humanoids with horse like faces), Lizarmen (humanoids that look like lizards and are very good with bows), Serpent Flies (strange insects that inhabit the Swamplands), Basilisks (medium-sized reptiles that could petrify a human by simply looking into his eyes), Gorgons (one of most dangerous creatures of Shar, the mighty gorgon can kill any creature that looks him in his eyes), the Wyvern (large winged reptiles that have a poisonous bite) and the mighty Hydra (a huge 3-headed reptile that can strike all enemies around it). I should be careful if I ever venture into the Swamplands.

    You find yourself in the Taenarium. A strange demonic figure begins to speak. Perhaps it's Verxor himself. He says: I know everything about you. You are the one that will create a new world and bring the dawn of a new age. History will remember you as a great wizard and a great warrior. You begin to scream, but again you have no mouth! You try to attack the demonic figure but you realize that you don't have legs anymore. You try to grab the demonic figure, but your arms have now disappeared. The demonic figure speaks again: Do not think that you can kill me, and things would be better. I am what you could be. I am the ultimate destruction. I am your dark side. I am everything bad in you. I am your heritage. You wake up. What a nightmare! And, what could the demonic figure mean when he was telling me about my heritage? You don't even know your family!

I remember Xardas telling me about the Dwarves and that they live in the Ramparts of Avlee. They also have an insatiable thirst for gold and all things that shine and because of that they can be found near gold mines. Too bad they are so greedy and they never use their gold, they just deposit it. Perhaps I can convince them that my cause is worthy and give me some gold.
