Intro 1The future looks grim for all the inhabitants of this land. One month ago the power mad Chrayis, who vowed to become a god, returned from his wanderings with three of the four ancient Tomes of Magic.

Chrayis player IntroYou refuse to accept defeat. The armies of Heaven have taken the Grail back from you, but you will find another way to assault Heaven. In the meantime, you must conquer this mortal realm, so that next time you will have an unlimited amount of troops for your army, better equipped to conquer Heaven

One time Resource bonusIn unearthing your castles from the earth, many useful substances were brought to the surface. They will come in useful for rebuilding, but they are finite, so you must plan thier use carefully.

Intro 1 NecromancerA great conflict has occurred aboveground, setting the stage for yet another war. Something to do with a sorceror named Chrayis who attempted to become a god.

Intro 2With a handful of loyal but powerful creatures, combined with his own awesome magical ability, Chrayis was able to defeat the guardians of the Grail and pervert it's power to his own ends.

Chrayis learns of RymeThe armies of this realm are preparing for war, and some of the ancient heroes of yore have been brought back from the dead to assist them in your destruction. One such hero, Ryme lies not far from here. Perhaps if you reach him before any of the other lords, you can turn him to your cause...

Intro 2 NecromancerYou can choose to join his cause, or the one against him, or neither. In any case you stand to benefit. War always provides a healthy source of troops for a enterprising Necromancer such as yourself.

Intro 3He conjured up four castles to build his army, which with he planned to conquer Heaven using the power of the Grail. Angered by his arrogance, the armies of Heaven were sent to put him in his place.

Intro 4The Heavenly hosts descended, and turned the land to barren waste during the epic battle, but such was Chrayis' stolen power that they were unable to kill him or his original army. They did wrest the Grail from him however, ending his threat to Heaven.

Intro 5But he is still very much a threat to this mortal realm. He has been stripped of his experience, and his castles have been virtually razed to the ground, but his talent remains, he still has the Tomes, and he still has his small but powerful army.

Intro 5 KreeganHaving no great love of Heaven, you were sorry to see him fail. You send an offer of alliance to him.

Chrayis- Alliance offerYou receive an offer of alliance from the Kreegan of the Inferno town below. You accept without much thought. One less enemy to worry about... for now.

Intro 6 KreeganChrayis has accepted your alliance. He leaves you to do as you will, asking only that you answer when the call to assault Heaven comes.

Kreegan allianceThe Kreegan, who have no great love of Heaven, have allied with Chrayis. If you venture belowground, be prepared to meet them in battle.

Prisoner HeroesHeaven is not oblivious to our plight. They have allowed various Heroes from ancient times to return to the land of the living during this time of crisis. You've only to visit thier burial sites to recruit them into your service.

Necromancer Hero pt 1A strange occurance took place today: a messenger from Heaven arrived. He told of an ancient Necromancer hero who had been restored from eternal death, awaiting your orders. The messenger asked that in return, you join the war against the Kreegan, & refrain from attacking those warring with Chrayis.

Chrayis recruits a heroNews has arrived from a neighboring kingdom. While trying to recruit the hero Ryme, one of the local lords came across Chrayis at the burial site. He has used his foul magic to turn that once honorable hero to his cause. Deny Chrayis any further advantage by reaching the remaining heroes first!

Necromancer Hero, pt 2He is located somewhere in Kreegan territory, should you choose to find him. Decide quickly however, for the guardians preventing the Kreegan from capturing him will not last forever.

Necromancer Lazarus story pt 1It is said Lazarus, the infamous Necromancer of the last age, used to remain neutral during the many wars aboveground, frequenting recent battle sites to add to his army. The combatants never bothered him, fearing his existing forces, or an alliance with thier enemies.

Lazarus story pt 2It was a method that worked well for him. But finally they could ignore him no more and waged war on him though he had never once did them harm. It cost them greatly, and Lazarus would have been victorious, but his forces soon grew beyond his ability to control.

Lazarus story pt 3Enlisting the help of peoples from other lands, Lazarus' enemies replenished thier armies and slew the chaotic forces under his command. Lazarus himself fell prey to a Destroy Undead spell that wasn't even intended for him.

Lazarus story pt 4Lazarus had not been like most Necromancers, didn't associate with them, and kept close council. Many lords felt the entire war was unjustified, but would not dare oppose it. The people aboveground had reacted out of fear, and to this day no one knows what Lazarus had intended to do with his armies.

Return of the GrailThe angel Gabriel has arrived, with the message that the Grail has been returned to this realm! Chrayis has no knowledge of this yet, but Gabriel urges that you quest for it. Should he gain the Grail again, God will call forth the Apocalypse.

Chrayis learns of the Grail's returnYou have studied the obelisk nearby, and have discovered it marks not the location of some ancient relic, but of the Grail itself! The fools of Heaven have returned it to this realm! You vow to possess it once again, but to stay your assault on the firmament until you have conquered all here first.
