Eons ago a mighty race of wizards, the Sartan, split the world asunder. Hoping to banish their ancient enemies, the Patryn, and end the bickering between the lesser races, the Humans, Elves, and Dwarves. Their plan failed. The Patryn, led by Lord Char, are now seeking revenge. The lesser races are, of course, still squabbling among themselves. Some of them have become aware of the threat of Lord Char and now seek to unite their world under one banner.

It is rumoured that Lord Char can be defeated with the help of an ancient artifact of great power, the Angelic Alliance. Its pieces have been scattered to prevent it falling into the wrong hands, but it can be reforged. The pieces are said to be in two groups of three, hidden in vaults deep within the earth and guarded by monsters.

Your spies inform you that the Elven Empire to the south is mobilizing for war. It is only a matter of time before they attack. You must make all haste to build a defence force!
