I've got this Roc's Nest right outside my Stronghold and had left 2 Rocs there because I couldn't afford them. Then my Ally walks in and picks them up! You can see them in his army! I'm heading back to my starting area to hide out and try to figure out what's going on here. You might well do the same, if your Ally has begun to act suspiciously. At very least, keep an eye out. Сообщение: (1) Once upon a time in a Land called Akkad, there was one known only as Grandmaster. True, there had been a time when the Grandmaster had only been Mayor of Frogtown, a humble beginning to a tale of Might and Magic. Faced with an extradimensional threat, the Grandmaster set out to unite Akkad and to acquire the power to save the land from the invaders. At first, these so-called Red Reavers appeared sporadicly, menacing local areas but posing no great challenges to the mightly armies of Elise and Gamorrah. Over time, the attacks mounted and became threats to all of Akkad. Akkad had long been governed by the Masters of the Seven Guilds, but there was reason to suspect treachery among the leaders. This was confirmed in the disappearance of the Master of the Freelancer's Guild, the notorious pirate Filthy McRum, who had only recently seized control. Suspicion fell on the Shadow Guild, because of its reputation for evil, but the traitor was eventually revealed to be the Wizard Malathion who had plotted to usurp control of the Mage's Guild. Probing the Outer Void with his Speculum, Malathion attracted the notice of the dread Uxnator, who seduced him with promises of support for his aspirations of power. But Uxnator's true goal was to wedge open a Door between his dimension and that of Akkad, so that first his Red Reavers might establish a beachhead and then capture a Town so that Uxnator himself might come through.

Сообщение: (3) Bad times had come to Brimstone, a small Town floating somewhere in the Outer Void. Cut off from the other Infernal settlements, Brimstone had gone along peacefully until a change in the weather threatened to freeze the little community. The Town elders communed with the Deity of Fire and learned that their little corner of reality had been dislocated by a rift in the Demonic Dimension caused by the wreckless machinations of the Overlord Uxnator. The only salvation, said the lore of the Deity of Fire, was an object known as the Grail. Thus a reluctant hero was sent out from Brimstone, across the Outer Void to the City of Foss in fabled Akkad, where the Grail was said to reside. Truly a stranger in this strange land, the Brimstone hero's name was soon forgotten, and he became known to the proud Citizens of Foss as Kid Heretic. And he lived up to his name, forming alliances with with various factions of Foss society, from the shadowy Underground to the haughty Celestial Temple. While climbing the rungs of Foss' social ladder, Kid Heretic found other likeminded associates (Heretics all) and gathered clues regarding the whereabouts of the Grail. But Kid Heretic's investigations did not go unnoticed--especially by the new Overlord of Foss, the usurper Uxnator. Yes, it turns out that after the failure of his takeover attempt, Uxnator was dethroned in the Demoniac Dimension, stripped of his great powers, and exiled back to Akkad. After meeting up with Malathion, he assembled band of Minotaur Mercenaries and set about plotting against the Grandmaster. After killing the old King and banishing the Crown Prince, Uxnator seized control of Foss, City of a Thousand Gates and Headquarters of the Merchant's Guild. However, Uxnator's rule was uneasy, as it is for all Tyrants, and he sought to rule with a heavy hand. The Minotaurs, known locally as Bully Boys, remained loyal to Malathion, which suited Uxnator because he preferred to spend his time on strategic concerns rather than daily operations.

Сообщение: (2) One of the first localities threatened by the arrival of the Red Reavers was that of Frogtown, home of a new Mayor. After encountering a Reaver on the main road to Elise, the Mayor determined to rid the province of the invaders and set off to seek allies. Sending out heroes to visit each Guild Headquarters in turn, the Mayor soon learned something of the convoluted politics of Akkad--that each Guild had its own power center and its own agenda. And as long as they played at intrigues and petty plots, it was clear that they could not hope to stand against Uxnator. What was needed was a figure to unite them, a figure who could command the power of the Grandmaster. And so the Mayor of Frogtown first arranged to join each of the Guilds, and then sought out its Headquarters, some of which operated in the open, others in secret. Then the Mayor challenged each of the Masters for leadership, acquiring their Emblems of office and combining their formidable powers to become the newest incarnation of the legendary Grandmaster. Now weilding the full Might and Magic of the Grandmaster, there remained only the problem of reaching Uxnator's realm, which lay across the Outer Void. This required a visit to the famous Market of Time, where all the Dimensions converge. Faced with combined armies of Akkad and the powers of the Grandmaster, Uxnator fell in defeat and the doorways to Akkad were closed for all time. Thus ends the first part of our tale.

Сообщение: (4) Kid Heretic's rise to power was a sudden as it was unexpected. Starting in the Slums, he moved into the Mercantile quarter and gained an understanding with the Don. As he gained stature by way of victories in the Arena, Kid Heretic also gained access to more of Foss--the University, Lords' Square, and eventually the Celestial Temple itself. However, Unxator's Tower/Dungeon complex appeared too difficult to penetrate, until Kid Heretic hit upon a plan to strike through Malathion. By storming Malathion's headquarters and capturing the Wizard, he was able to disrupt the chain of command and the Bully Boys soon deserted their guardpost outside Uxnator's Castle. Bolstered by special troops from the Underground, Kid Heretic was able to defeat Uxnator and obtain the Grail for Brimstone.

Сообщение: (6) After briefly perusing the map of Akkad, the Grandmaster resolved to seek out the Cartographer responsible, to see what manner of being had presumed to cast fair Akkad as a battleground for Demoniacs. In an audience with the Astral Wizard himself, the Grandmaster learns that the map in question had been drawn by a Cartographer known as Charley. A brief search of the Astral Wizard's roster of match players fails to locate this Charley, a great disappointment since the Grandmaster had hoped to engage Charley in a match in order to learn how he had come by his information on Akkad. The Astral Wizard explains that Charley is something of a wuss and lacks the courage for match play. And if Charley should sign up for match play, the Grandmaster would find himself at the end of a long line, for there are already a number of match players looking for a piece of Charley.

Сообщение: (5) Grown weary of ruling Akkad, the Grandmaster now spends much of his time occupied in a sport known as Heroes of Might and Magic. It is said that HOMM (as it is sometimes called) is the creation of the former Master of the Heroes Guild, Van Canegham. Others say it is the work of an Alchemist named Gus or a Knight known as Sir Mullich. Perhaps all of these and more are to be credited, but it little matters to the Grandmaster as he whiles away the hours at this most intriguing pursuit. At first, the Grandmaster is delighted to play out the solo adventures that had been provided, but eventually his combative nature won out and he began to seek out other players for head-to-head competition. He was never short of opponents, but eventually found that he was become bored of the same familiar landscapes, dwellings, and creatures. Then one day, the Grandmaster learned of the domain of the Astral Wizard, where an enclave of Cartographers had filed countless maps of new domains, some connected to the familar territories of Enroth and Erathia, and some apparently depicting strange new environs. After having sampled these new worlds of adventure, the Grandmaster set out to discover their source. Could these be real worlds?, he wondered, or are they merely confabulations of disturbed minds? In his investigation, the Grandmaster explored the worlds mapped out by legendary Cartographers with names like Grayson, Thait, Duncan, and McCrum. He wondered whether there could truly be people with names like Qrystal, Qurqirich, Fnord, or Gageteer. Or whether these maps came from places with names like Australia, Holland, Romania, or Oklahoma. But imagine the surprise when one day the Grandmaster came across a map titled Grandmaster. And imagine the shock when it was revealed to be a map of Akkad itself!

As you probably know, my treacherous Ally turned on me and trapped me here. I can tell you he's too tough to fight, even with an army. That means you aren't going to get a Standard Victory, so you'd better concentrate on getting the Power of the Dragon Father to Dragon City. For that, you're going to need my help--I'm ready to change sides--so free me right away. I don't think you'll be able to evade Uxnator, and I barely got started before he shut me in here, but I have a plan! If you'll release me and take my place, I'll summon Lady Death and bargain to be transported to the Soul Prison. When I get there, I'll arrange for you to join me. From there, you may find your way to escape. Now this is IMPORTANT! When Uxnator comes for you, make sure you retreat or surrender. You'll need to be waiting at the Heroes Guild when I call, so don't come back at your home Tavern either. That may not be a safe place. (And neither is Day 7.) Finally, I'm going to need to borrow your Boots of Levitation and a Spellbook to get past the guard. They took my Spellbook, and unless I can get one I won't be able to open the Dimension Door.
