Using a carved bull's horn as a megaphone, Fik announces to the world that Corribus the Magnificent has no inclination to allow filth and toe-fuzz such as you into his great home. You begin to turn away in shame and humiliation, when suddenly, Fik says, Well, hold up there a second. You turn, hopefully. You look like decent folk. Now, My Lord Corribus doesn't really like visitors. That's why he's so... shall we say... nasty to them. Really, it's just because he's SO sad and upset after that whole Warlock's Local 13 fiasco. He's not a bad guy. The man really needs some help governing his province because he simply doesn't care any more. He's that depressed. He feels betrayed! The Gargoyles are on strike, none of the workers are happy. Corribus, Inc. is really suffering as a result. We haven't put out a decent suit of armor in who knows how long. To make matters worse, there is a tribe of Cyclops on the western shore of the river that is sinking all of the supply ships that come into our harbor. We can't even get decent materials. If you were to go over there and give Zed, the Cyclops King, a good head-thomping, I think I could at least sneak you past these walls, although I couldn't vouch for your safety. His guards are pretty loyal, and as I said, he's very wary of making new friends. You'll have to prove your good intentions once you're inside. After a moment's pause, he asks, Well, will you do it?

You aren't sure you like it, but at this point anything better than Hey, Painted Face! will do. It is not common for a young rebel to disobey the warning and return here. Do you come to do penance, or to attack us? he asks, eyeing the assortment of troops behind you. You realize that you are opening and closing your mouth, trying to think of something to say. The sage is very familiar; so is the town ahead, and even the stream through the gardens. You rebelled against this life and were sent away? What in heavens happened after that to rob you of your memory? And why were you such a putz? All you want to do right now is dive into the lake for a good swim before crashing under that massive tree. The druid sees your obvious confusion and softens somewhat. Come then, and enter your home once more. Not all will welcome you, however. Some will remember your youthful arrogance and anger, and that you were told never to return. His eyes burn into yours, then flicker again over your troops. If you have indeed come to take back the valley from the Dark Ones, be warned that many here were born behind the barrier, as you were. They may not be willing to fight for Greenhaven, but they will give their lives to defend Greenhome.

Сообщение: An old, grey dwarf has run to meet you. He's bellowing excitedly, and somewhat incoherently, about seeing you come through the barrier. You came through! I can't believe--You came through! This is just--You must be the one who will lead us back to Greenhaven! I can't--Please to meet you! Mighty pleased indeed! After a few minutes, he has calmed down enough to realize that you don't understand him. Stonebreaker (for that is his name) settles down as though to tell a story. Some years ago, this region was united under the lords of Greenhaven, he says, giving every indication that this will indeed be a story, and a long one. You sit down beside the well. The land was fertile and wonderfully maintained. Anyone who could not live harmoniously within the elven nation was given supplies sufficient for a long journey and sent outside the valley. The lords of Greenhaven, our just and right rulers, needed more crystal than our mines could produce, and so they ordered us to dig deeper under the mountains for new sources. I was only a child then, but I still remember the day the ground collapsed. All the dwarves left the mines to tend to the wounded and try to stabilize the area. Then the Dark Ones came. A group of outsiders had been living in tunnels under Greenhaven. Our digging gave them a way to get above ground without magic. At first we treated them cordially, since they wore the dress of Druids and Rangers, but it wasn't long before the sages recognized them
