    This map was designed for 2 human players on one team. If more than two humans are playing, I suggest eliminating the time limit through the map editor. Or, leave it as is for a real challenge. The map tester had 4 players and finished with only 2 days to spare. Enjoy....
  • Aftermath
    Impossible!! You shout. Your high council just informed you that in the night your towns were attacked and everyone (almost) was taken. Taken?? Yes, taken, there are no bodies anywhere so far. It seems that only the stronger army troops survived.

    How did this happen? You demand. Was it that vile Warlock in the south again... But, no, he is not strong enough.
  • Who... teal
    How did this happen? You demand. Was it our old demonic enemies in the north again... But, no, they are not strong enough for something like this.

    How did this happen?!?! You demand. Was it those insufferable knights again... But, no, they are not strong enough; and this is not their style.

    How did this happen??? You howl. Was it that contemptable wizard up north... But, no, he is not this powerful. I want ANSWERS!!

    As reports roll in, the story grows even more unbelievable. Rumor has it that skeletons, zombies, and other creatures of evil rose from their graves to attack. What will they come up with next. You send a messenger to try and calm down what remains of your kingdom. Zombies. Hah.
  • Proof
    You can no longer deny it. As your troops and scouts head out to assess the damage, they encounter more 'undead' beings... and even bring some back as proof. You send for your High Priest, if he's still around, that is.

    Yet another of your subjects approach with a grim look. Sire, it seems that people aren't all we're missing. The royal vaults have been raided. We have no resources with which to rebuild. You restrain yourself from killing the messenger, and dismiss him. Now what?

    Finally, some good news. It seems that the miners were not attacked, and are able to keep working. It will take awhile, but resources will be coming in.

    Your High Priest arrives and briefly explains the 'fine art' of Necromancy. You still have a hard time believing all this. You mean our people will be used in an undead army against us?!? Your Priest answers, Yes, most likely. That would be my guess anyway. You dismiss him, and do some math.

    An advisor approaches... I've had an idea. There are small towns on surrounding islands, that seem to have been spared. Perhaps if we invest in them, we will be able to recruit some of the locals to our cause. You assure him that you will investigate the matter.

    You send a scout to check out the towns that your advisor spoke of.

    One of your advisors approaches... Sire, we found the way they were able to get in and strike. It seems they tunneled through to our underground training facilities, and came above ground by our cave entrance. They caved in the tunnel behind them and now we have no way to follow.

    Your messenger returns, sooner than expected. It seems that he ran into a messenger from your ally. The same tragedy has struck them as well. They cannot send help at this time.

    It has occurred to you that if all the people taken are made into an army... You are vastly outnumbered.

    Your scout returns from the nearby islands. The towns are in great need of developing to our standards. Given the dire need for more troops to fight this battle, I think this would be a worthwhile investment.

    Your tacticle advisor approaches with even more bad news. It seems that your enemies have heard of your 'weakened' position and have decided to attack.

    You begin to hear the few remaining peasants whispering about an ancient sword that can strike down any threat.

    It seems that your enemies are just as interested in destroying this evil as you. But they also got the impression that YOU were going to attack THEM during this crisis. Your ambassadors were unable to convince them otherwise and have not returned.

    You gather the wisest of your subjects and put them to work to find a way to destroy the undead hordes from below.

    Your war advisor approaches. My King, I've an idea. If we could conquer the fortresses of the swamp, we could recruit the swamp creatures to aid in our battle. Don't we have enough problems without getting into a war with the swamp creatures?!?!? You dismiss him.

    It seems that your decision not to use the creatures of the swamp in this war was widely unpopular and has decreased an already low morale among your troops. You bend to popular demand, and send troops to investigate the swamp. You vow to set things right after the war.

    It is clear that your old enemies do not wish to put aside their differences to fight this new threat. Perhaps your war advisors were right, strike at them now while they are weakened. Then, use their weapons and resources to aid in the battle against the undead.

    A lone gypsy approaches your castle, claiming to have valuable information. Given the dire circumstances and great need for any help, you agree to see her in the morning.

    The gypsy tells you of strange dreams she has had. Terrifying undead monsters attacking anything in their path. But then, a hero with a glowing sword strikes them down with ease. It is this sword that you seek. It alone will win this war.

    You send the gypsy woman to work with your wise men. Perhaps together they can discover the whereabouts of this magical sword.

    You receive word that the gypsy has discovered that there are a secret sect of monks within the swamp with knowledge of the Sword.

    The gypsy returns with more news (in the form of 'visions'). I have seen the end, My Lord. The sword must strike at the heart of their army. Great! Now we only have to find a sword that may not exist and strike a 'heart', which means what... exactly. You thank her for her help and dismiss her

    The gypsy returns with more grim news. My Lord, I have had another vision. The undead armies will march across the overworld in three moons. They will finish what they have begun. And there will be no stopping them. There can be no mistake about this. We must move quickly.

    You gather your generals to tell them of the gypsy's prediction. They protest, We will never have a sufficient army by that time!! Then we must find another way. We must find that sword. My Lord, we cannot entrust our lives and future to a myth. Then find another way.

    With serious reservations, you decide to send a couple of your best spies underground to try and assess exactly what you are up against.

    Two of your four spies return with grave news. Your Highness, we see no way possible for our armies to defeat those undead monsters. There are so many.

    You call your generals together again to tell them of the spy's report. We simply must find another way than a head on battle. You inform them. I want some options, and I want them soon.

    You have yet another meeting with the leaders of your kingdom. M'lord, I think I have an idea... We have learned from the druids that the sword we need is underground. Perhaps if we send several small groups of soldiers and spread out, we will find the sword faster.

    You may be right, a small force could move more quickly and easily; perhaps avoiding detection. You approve the plan.
