    Your allies have informed you that their most powerful knight, the legendary Sir Edric, may not be dead as earlier believed. Rumour has it that the hellspawn have him under lock and key, and the only way to free him would be to travel north, find the keymaster's tent, then travel underground and free him from prison.
  • Clue to the Grail
    As the first trying month of your campaign comes to an end, you are assuaged by a strange dream, in which the spirit of your father returns to offer you advice. My child, he explains, if you are to defeat these dark lords you require a powerful totem. Seek out the grail, it is hidden beneath the earth, in the centre of this realm, guarded by a group of renegade angels, blindly determined to prevent it from being used for ill or, indeed, for good.

    Accumulation of reports and your own travels have suggested to you that the forces of evil are expanding in a regular pattern, from the centre of your world. Where once there was a giant lake and great mountains, there are now two smaller lakes and a fiery palace atop a blackened mountain range.

    A caravan from the eastern deserts has arrived, and the strange and wonderful creatures that people it are more than happy to contribute gold to your treasury, in return for safe passage through your lands.

    It is a chilly morning that you wake up to, but you feel warmer inside when you receive news that this week's tax collection has been bolstered greatly by the merchant council in Holm, desperate to keep their trade routes open by contributing to your war effort.

    The eccentric inventor, Rex Gagravan, has designed a remarkable vessel for underwater exploration, which he has dubbed the aqua-pellet. It looks to you like a big grey slug. Its first mission is to salvage booty from an old vessel on a lake bed. You are pleased to be informed of the mission's success after dinner, with the return of the shabby inventor, beaming and waving a gold piece in his dirty hand.
  • P8 (pink) bonus
    A page enters your bedchamber late in the evening and announces majesty, exploreres have returned from exploring the wild minotaur caves many days trek from our dungeons. Though they have suffered many casualties, they have heroically brought back riches. These will make a welcome addition to your coffers.

    It is reported to you today that an large stash of resources has been located in the swamps, clearly left over from a former crisis. You receive the news with great relish.
  • P6 (purple) bonus
    A month ago, a party of explorers left on an expedtion into the arctic wastes, hoping to reach the dry lands beyond, and the fabled cities of gold. Now, a single ragged figure stands before you, the last remaining member of this party. I don't know where the others are, I don't even know how I got back here ... but I bring you riches, majesty, taken from beyond the ice ...

    A great haul of extra gold has been reported from your mines this week ... a giant fissure running through the mountains has reaped a minor reward for you.
  • Update
    A messenger arrives at your camp early in the morning. We have just received word, your excellency, that the demons are attempting to invoke a cataclysm in our world. If they succeed in calling upon their dark lord, surely all hope would be lost. We think it may happen within one hundred days.
  • Update II
    You sleep uneasily that night. It has been one hundred days since the messenger warned you of impending doom. You might not have much more time ...
  • Update III
    There is an ominous stillness in the air tonight. You sense whatever chaos may ensue, it must not be far away now, perhaps no more than two weeks. You must launch your assault on the demonic citadel soon, you realise. Before it is too late.
  • Update IV
    Just after lunch you receive the information you had been dreading. A messenger informs you that there has been much activity in the demon lands, as they prepare for the coming of their master. You realise it is now or never. Brave hero, it is time to drive these evil beings out, once and for all
  • Update V
    Tomorrow there will be chaos. Tomorrow the green fields of Marheim, Hagaal and Tambry, the mountain tower of Gullwing, the dungeon of Jef Keep, the barbarian stronghold of Broken Ax and the swamps of Rassil, all shall be swallowed up by terror and death. Tomorrow, you must defeat them, or perish.
