There is reported to be a strange green gate in the south of blue territory. No one has been able to pass it as yet.

Day 1King George turned to his latest scout and asked, Ok, bright guy, now which way do we go? Having set out to see why some of the mines had stopped producing, the little royal band had once again become hopelessly lost in the swamps. Well, Georgie, it seems to me, we should go back where we started and try a different direction. Georgie shook his head in disgust. How many times do I have to tell you not to call me that, it isn't dignified. I'm your king, you know. So ok, where did we start? The scout studied his boots, Back at the castle, sir. The king nodded and smiled, And how do we get back to the castle? You could have heard a pin drop. Just as I thought, you don't have a clue. Well, you know what that means, you get to stand here and make sure we don't come round in a circle. This was quite normal, and the swamps and bogs were littered with former guides left behind as 'signposts'. This would have made things easier except for the fact that they eventually died. This left the path in question, in question again. Georgie made a note, 'Threat with becoming a signpost does not seem to be working on the more stupid guides.' . And then in utter frustration he spurred his mount and set off towards..... well, he just set off. And so begins our tale.

trudging the swampsTrudging through the swamps, water filling his boots with every step, our reluctant sovereign thought about his brother, Bubba. He might be forced to make his way north to ask for help if he didn't find his way to the castle soon. He was low on supplies, and some of his men were feverish from the heat. Bubba might still be a little cross. Muddy Boggy Hollow was named after it's 2 land types. In the south, Georgies reign, were the bogs, and Bubba's new northern province was, you guessed it, the mud. But then again Georgie thought as he swatted at a never ending cloud of gnats, mud might not be so bad. He made a note, 'Ask advisors to weigh pros and cons of mud.'

druthersIf Georgie had had his druthers, he'd ruther have not been king. He had hoped to convince his father, King Felix, of that very thing, but he old man had disappeared 6 years ago before he had the chance. Felix had announced he had seen a wondrous new land at the local magi hut, and would not rest until he had seen it for himself, and set off with his army. Now, most folks say he fought his way to the sea by way of the Muddy Mts., but since everyone lost sight of him the moment he stepped from the door of the castle, that is just a guess. When he had failed to return after 5 years, Georgie, his oldest son, was crowned king.

Muddy RiverAfter slogging through the Muddy River for a few days, Georgie had changed his mind. No, he would definitely not change places with Bubba. Over half of his troops had fallen into the mud completely and looked like horror movie extras. Many had lost their boots, and one poor man his pants, in the sucking mud. Georgie himself had had to dismount several times, and was quite filthy by now. He made a note, 'Skip asking for pros of mud, entirely too many cons.'

jackpotMany things have been lost over the years in Muddy Boggy Hollow. Mudslides can cover whole villages in the north, and the tropical plants could grow to enormous sizes in a matter of days and completely cover the same village in the south. So it is no wonder that sometimes, when you least expect it, you run across something no one has seen in ages. Well, that very thing happened today to our most fortunate son of a king! In a rare twist of fate, our hero managed to find something instead of lose it. Turning down yet another unknown pathway, he bumped right into the royal treasury! This particular treasury had been lost for at least 26 years. Elated, he grabbed as much gold as he could carry. He made a note, 'Try going down more unknown paths.'

find dadThings were not going as well as our Georgie had hoped. It seems he was running back and forth, fighting swamps one minute, and mud the next. Where was his father? Which way did he go? And who was that masked man? Oops, too much Classic TV reruns. Finding his father had now become a burning desire. He not only loved and missed the old man, he really and truly was tired of being a king.

after dadSince rescuing his father, Georgie has been like a new man. He thinks it is the relief of handing back a crown that never quite fit him. But those of us on the outside are seeing a new spring in his step. I believe he holds his head a little higher, don't you? And, have you noticed, he hasn't been lost once.

few resourcesRiding through the compound with his father, Georgie was struck by 2 things. One was how well King Felix had laid it all out. The training grounds were much better than anything back in Muddy Boggy. Of course, dry land to build on did help. And second, he noticed there were no resources. This was beginning to bother him. If all he had heard of the war between the natives was true, they were going to need a lot more than a few stacks of wood. He sends a small troop back to the Hollow to see what they can scrounge up.

enchanted landKing Felix, satisfied all was well on the island, takes time today to speak to his son about the land the magi had tapped into. It's over there all right son. We could catch glimpses of it now and then as we explored. But, we could never find the way in. They say it is a land of enchantment, where your every wish comes true, and the way in lays in the very heart of the country. You saw it for yourself, you must be as curious as I am. Promise me, if these old bones of mine don't make it, you will go find it for me yourself Georgie. Now that rates a hankie, sniff, sniff.

send scoutsCurious as to what the war across the water is about, Georgie sends some spies out. Now who would have expected that one? Imagine, an adventure map with spies to tell you what's going on. He writes a note, 'Make spies reporting back a standard in all future adventures.'

spies returnIsn't it great when you get to tell the story? The spies return! It seems the heart of the country holds more than just the gate to the enchanted land. There, as the tale goes, you can buy powerful artifacts, visit a magical library full of deadly spells, and best, or worst of all, buy a map of the entire world. With that map, one can see every move of his enemies. This place is the cause of all the warfare. Each faction knows to conquer it, is to conquer all and rule this world himself. Now that puts a new light on things.

we have to runHaving heard the reports of the spies and conferring with King Felix, our hero realizes their days on the island are numbered. When someone reaches the center of power, the newcomers will be forced to flee back through the big black hole and into ...., oh heavens, into Muddy Boggy Hollow. Georgie makes a note, 'Have someone fill in the big black hole.'

to warWell friend, Georgie is going to war! We all knew he would. Who in his right mind would run back to Muddy Boggy Hollow? So, lets grab a cool drink, sit back and enjoy the ride. Your narrator will be taking a break, unless of course you would like play by play action. 'He thrusts, he scores! He chases, they flee. Up the mountain, down the mountain, up the mountain, down the.... What's that? I thought you'd see it my way.

Then the old fool disappeared, and by law his brother was crowned king. Sent off to the northern province, he spends his days sloshing through nothing but mud, and thinking bad thoughts about his brother.

Georgie hails him from a distance, and gets an obscene gesture in return. Then Bubba yells across the mud flats. Lost again brother? Tough! Just turn it around and go back the way you came. Your the big bad king now, order yourself home! Georgie makes a note, 'See what's wrong with the rest of Bubba's fingers, but only after you whip him up beside his head a few times.'

A mudslide has ruined half his crops. He's been muttering all day, calling you everything but a gentleman. Georgie adds them to his ranks, and marches north. Bubba isn't the only one who has had a bad day, but first he makes a note. 'Offer reward to anyone calling me King George, or even sire. See if that has results.'

Сообщение: As they traverse the channel, Georgie learns all that has befallen his father. After finding the new world, their first meeting with the local natives did not go well. They are all at war with one another, and didn't mind spreading it around to the newcomers. King Felix had retired to this island so very much like their home. He wanted to give his troops a chance to get used to the solid ground and began training them rather hard. Some revolted and took him prisoner. You can see his cell from here on the island.

Everyone thought he was very gallant to revenge his father like that, until they got close enough to hear what he was saying with every swipe. And this is for ruining my best boots in Muddy River! and on and on our hero ranted, until his arm was too tired to swing again. They carted the poor wyvern off in a tea pot to be buried.

At some time in each persons life, they are called to do that which they do not want to do. It may be difficult, shameful, or sometimes even painful. The battle comes not from the situation, but from the inner turmoil. In every case, the doing of the deed is easier to bear than the fear of it came to be. Georgie has become that which he feared to be, a king among men. No longer forever losing his way and trodding heavily through the mire of doubt. He has found many things, his father, himself, his purpose, and most of all his way. Yet still he cannot pass through the gate of enchantment and find his every dream fulfilled. That for him is as it is for all men. Not until the last battle be fought, and the final foe laid waste. Then will the gates be flung open, and... Alright already, we get the picture. It's a good thing our hero Georgie is starting to enjoy this adventuring storming the castle kind of thing. He might have had to write a very nasty note about miss magic here.

He hasn't heard the first squish, nothing is running down his pants leg into his boots. Some of the troops are not so happy about it. Сообщение: A sentry informs Georgie the portal will take him to either the other side of the island, or to their secret boat dock in the northern sea. They had not figured out how to make it work properly just yet. 'Figures', Georgie thinks to himself. His father had a thing for portals, but you just never knew where they would take you. He really hated portals, but it looked as if this may be the quickest way to get where he was going.
