    Elektra is woken from her slumber deep within her lamp by a gremlin. M'lady, it squeaks, A thousand pardons, but there is a visitor at the outer gate. Well, thinks Elektra, it's a nice day. May as well see who it is.

    Medea was deep in meditation when a footman starting rapping on the door. Beg your pardon, Madam, but there is a strange visitor asking after you at the outer gate. he says. Medea yawns and decides to go forth and investigate.

    Atilla is woken from his drunken sleep by the pounding of a club on his thick head. He groans and starts bashing the waker, a particularily stupid orc, around. With his last gasp, the orc mentions that there is a visitor at the front gate.

    Shrark is awaken by a loud buzzing sound near his ear. Thinking it a mosquito, he jumps up and starts flailing about wildly with a rolled-up newspaper. A few gruesome minutes later, he realizes that he has just bludgeoned to death his messenger Serpent Fly. He wonders what it wanted.

    Sire... our astrologers have predicted that the end of the millenium - now just four months away - will harken the arrival of the Century of the Dead. They will inform us of more just as soon as they get a new shipment of tea leaves to read.

    Oh great one.. begins your scaley advisor, the Witch Doctor sends this message: OO-EE-OO-AH-AH. DING DANG WALLA WALLA BING BANG. I have sent word back to him asking for the message in lay-lizardmen terms. I shall keep you informed.

    Excuse me my leige says an advisor, but one of the monks claims to have had a vision that the new millenium - just four months away - will be the Century of the Dead. Of course, it was pizza night at the Monastary last eve. We'll look into it, however.

    You are approached by an advisor.. he is fiddling nervously with the skulls on his necklace as he speaks: Hail Great Chief. The shamans have smoked their strange pipes and said that soon - come four moons - the Dead shall stalk us. Grog just wanted to let you know.

    Great one... the Witch Doctor advises that he has eaten many strange mushrooms lately and that the spirits warn him of impending doom. That, apparently, was the 'walla wall bing bang' part. He will say more as the spirits impart their wisdom to him.

    Sire... grim news.... the astrologers finally got their tea leaves. After spending a day looking through them, they all packed up and left in a great hurry. I shall keep you informed.

    Sire... not to worry you or anything, but a number of other monks have now also claimed to have seen visions of an army of the dead returning to the world of the living at the turn of the millenium. If this is so, we should perhaps start to .. um... worry.

    Grog come to tell Great Chief that shamans make bigger pipe. Smoke lots. They say the dead are coming back to pull our flesh off and make us dance around in our bones. Grog scared.

    Excuse me, Great Lord of the Swamp... the Witch Doctor says that he has found and ate the largest mushroom he could find. He says that in four moons the Dead shall rise to slay the living. He also says that a large caterpiller with funky glasses is eating his cheese.

    The good news, Oh Great Blue One, is that we have found the astrologers' journal. The bad news is that it bodes ill. They warn of an invasion of the dead at the turn of the millenium. They also apparently forsee a Shriners convention. It is unknown which of these caused them to flee.

    Sire.. the High Priest suggests that in order to protect ourselves from the rampaging hoardes of dead, we look for a mighty artifact. She suggests that one may be found nearby, underground. She has also asked if she can take her vacation at the end of the year.

    More news, Sire. The magi have taken over the job of predictions. They advise that we should seek a great weapon that will protect us from the dead, and suggest that one such can be found nearby, buried under the ground.

    Hail Great Chief. Faithful Grog come tell that shamans don't smoke again. Ogre Magi say we should look for big club and bonk dead on their skulls and put their bones through our noses. Ogre Magi say big club underground.

    Great Swamp Thing... it is I, your meek servant. The witches tell me that they have danced widdershins around many a tree and that the spirits inform them of a powerful artifact which would shield us from the rampaging dead. They say we should seek it underground.

    Excuse me, oh Lord of All Things Slimey. A knight has come to tell us that despite the approaching Army of Death, the humans still want to trample us into the swamp and build amusement parts over our bogs. Needless to say, we ate him.

    Grog back Big Chief. Gremlin from over big rock come tell us that wizards still don't like us and want to make lightening come to hurt us. We ate little gremlin. He good!

    Great One... a hairy, stinking emissary from the orc kings has arrived. He wishes to inform you that, and I quote, 'despite the oncoming wholesale slaughter of the living, we still wish to crush you beneath our big black boots.' We have removed his pineal gland and donated it to the Alchemists.

    Sire... something slimy just came to deliver this message: 'We of the swamp lands despise you do-gooders more than death itself. Know that we shall see you trampled into the mud yet. I did manage to squash it with my boot ere it scuttled away.

    Sire... the magi have informed me that there is a spell which can turn the dead to dust. It can be found only on a remote island in the great lake. I suggest that we make haste to find it!

    Sire... one of the monks has found information which may help. Apparently there exists a spell which can destroy the undead. However, this spell can only be found on a remote island in the Great Lake.

    Hail Great Chief. Grog come say that Ogre Magi tell us about big magic make dead fall down go boom. They say big magic across water. We go get, make dead fall down go boom, say Ogre Magi.

    Great Scaley Thing... the witches have twirled around thrice under the full moon and wish you to know that the spirits informed them of a great spell which may verily cause the Dead great suffering. They say to seek it in the Great Lake.

    My liege! The monks have seen visions of a Great Hero storming the castle of the Death Lord and averting the onslaught. They think it was more of a knight type of hero rather than a cleric hero. And they don't recall seeing any monks in the army.

    Sire... the Magi have determined that we may avert being overrun by the Legions of the Damned by seeking out the land of Death and storming the Castle of the Death Lord. None of the magi, however, have volunteered for the mission.

    Most Honourable Slimey One... the Witches tell me that the Home of the Death God can be reached by mortals and that we may be able to stop the invasion of the dead by destroying his castle.
