Opening spiel

You are sitting at your table studying the tomes of herbalism borrowed from the king's library when you are interrupted by Elrond, your elven friend from Greenthorn. Waldenforce, in recent months we have been tracking the population of the wildlife. There has been an abundance of activity throughout the Hunter's Guild. They seem to be killing more than they are allowed. It's almost as if they are training for something to come. Should we dispatch word to the king? ... Very well, I will send my best scout.
King's Message

Waldenforce, my scout has returned. He has a message from the king. Elrond hands you a parchment from the king. The royal seal is not fixed upon this note...This puzzles you, but it all becomes clear as you read. Waldenforce, you must figure out what is going on in the Hunter's Guild. The story your scout has told me leads me to believe they are planning to move against me, or at least against the towns along the borders of my land. If I step in against them, the other guilds might make a stand against me, and I do not wish to provoke civil war. I will, however, help you in secret. Go north to my castle and then head west along the mountains into my training grounds. There your troops will become more seasoned to deal with these hunters. Good speed to you. It looks like war to you.
Ambushes Abound

Waldenforce, I should warn you. Shydon killed many of our surveyors by ambushing them in the forest. We should be wary of these.
Far Eastern Woods

Waldenforce, we have heard rumors of poaching in the far easternmost woods. We protect these nearby lands, yet they seem to bypass our scouts without being detected. Could the Hunter's Guild be penetrating this far east?

He killed most of our own surveyors in Greenthorn and is attempting to create an army out of all those who still live. You grit your teeth. This is grave, grave news. You realize that soon you will be at war with your nearest neighbor. Waldenforce, my band of elves will help you any way we can. We will train and be ready for battle at the beginning of next week. Please have our quarters built by then.
