intro1In the foyer of castle Mydia, your vizier arrives with a message from Zuel, Archon of Ruen. He begins to read from the parchement.

intro2...I am displeased that I have not yet received the tribute you owe. Until my demands are met, I have authorized my servants to take whatever they wish from your kingdom. I expect immediate payment or you shall forfeit your kingdom. Lest you have forgotten, I list again my requirements...

intro3Zuel's armies of Pit Fiends and Pit Lords recently decimated your elite guard. But his tribute demands are extortion: an inordinate quantity of gold, gems, sulfur, wood, crystal, ore. In frustration, you blurt out: If I put every mine in my kingdon into production I could not meet these demands!

intro4Your vizier speaks: Sire, I have suggestion. The neighboring forest kingdom of Edenglade has a wealth of gem ponds, sulfur dunes, gold mines, ore pits, saw mills, and crystal mines... if we make them ours we can pay the tribute.

intro5You ponder the choice: sacrifice your pride for the survival of your kingdom and steal from your neighbor? Or take to the battlefield again, evict Archon Zuel from these lands, and establish yourself as the ruler of this region? Your able knight, Valeska, stands ready to carry out your instructions.
