  • Charon
    The ferryman of Hell is a guy I wouldn't like to meet in person. Not only does he have a substantial army of those rampaging ghostly beasts but whips them to fight with such a frenzy. It's been said that even the finest creatures to roam the lands wouldn't compete in an one-to-one match.
  • Grail
    The Mages have been known to scetch the blueprints for a skyship, but no one ever questioned where they put them and now they don't remember it either. Well, since we know they aren't fond of leaving their snowy plains, it must reside somewhere in that area.
  • Statue of Legion
    Aye, I've seen parts of that legendary statue somewhere.. Of course I can't remember where exactly, but at least I know they don't reside close to each others. I've seen one head and a fellow of mine claims that he has seen one too, so there may, in fact, be two of them!
  • Armor of the Damned
    Blast this cursed land! If only I had your age and temper, I'd show these blasted creatures what their own toys do when I use them AGAINST their creators! Ahh, naturally, those pieces aren't here in my possession, let's see where I put them..
  • Badlands
    The people of the Badlands have been known to stockpile their resources into curious places. I, for one, wouldn't be surprised to learn that they're actually a lot richer than they seem.
  • Obelisk
    An obelisk? No, I haven't seen any around here, and the rumor goes that to get to one, you'd have to be extremely fast or be killed. Whatever that means.
  • Imprerial Treasury
    The Ancient Kings apparently made a grievious mistake in their calculations when they supposed they could contain the growth of the vile creatures they used to secure the portals. The beasts have overgrown so much that no sane person would even dare to enter the treasury again.
  • The Cornucopia
    No, I've never heard anyone speaking of having seen a cornucopia as you describe it, but hey, all it takes to assemble one is to obtain the necessary ingredients. No one just has cared to search for them quite yet.
  • Hellraiser
    Travellers that visited Hellraiser, the capitol of the fiery underworld dwellers, before these sad events took place say that the city was a place of worship for some sort of Deity.
  • Scar
    The travellers that managed to visit Scar, the capital of the beast folks of the underworld, before these unfortunate events took place say that the city was protected by a guardian of heavenly powers.

События

  • Intro
    You and your friend returned from your crusade to the neighboring continents only to find your empires in great decline. Not only has corruption overridden honesty and compassion overtaken by greed, you as a ruler is a question that swells through the ranks of your formerly so loyal citizens. You're soon dethroned and banished to the deadly underworld caverns as any common criminal that has suffered a death penalty with nothing but your faithful steed to follow you. Just before you leave, your only loyal captain gathers a small army of men and seizes your capital. You're to meet as soon as you find your way back home to set things straight again. Let's hope he can ward off the rioters for long enough.
  • Intro II
    Oh, and naturally your treasury is now in unsure hands. Besides, carrying wagonloads of resources isn't what you'd expect to see with crooks that suffer banishment to the Death Pits. Nevertheless, you wouldn't be a ruler if you didn't have at least a few loyal henchmen. They assist you in raiding the kingdom's treasury just before you're banished. Use it wisely as you are most certainly not going to see much cash inflow coming your way!
  • Scenario info
    Your captain seems to be trapped inside the castle, as there are hundreds and hundreds of rioters just outside the gates. On the other hand, even furious berserks have the common sense to not to try the moats and the arrow towers of your main castle. Your sincere hope is that your captain survives this siege alive. As for yourself, you're facing pretty certain death very soon. These caverns are The Place for condemned criminals - no one has yet survived the dark passages, drowning muddy pools or the vile beasts that are rumored to inhabit these areas. You didn't seem to care for humanity when the people sent here were actually criminals but now that you need to struggle on your own your opinions suddenly change. You promise yourself that these foul pits will be purged with considerable manpower as soon as you're put back in control. Yea, in the distant future, that is.
  • Comp resource balancer
    Computers need a bit of time to recoup - so that the players don't meet gazillion units as soon as they leave the Badlands.
  • Panic
    A pigeon carrying a note reaches you, apparently your captain must have sent someone to release the bird through the same portal as you did. It carries a note -- written in a hurry and with bloodstains all over it. It's from your captain! The report is filled with despair - an enemy has been sighted inside your territory and is quickly advancing towards your capitol. All you can do now is to hope that your hometown has enough defenses to withstand, although you have no idea what's to happen. These news would crush just about anyone, but hey, that's why you were chosen as the leader in the first place.
  • Resource drain
    Computers will be drained off their resources until day 100. This eliminates lucky strike attacks from the computer - it won't gain any army or buildings.
  • Despair
    So this is it. Your capitol lies in the hand of the enemy, and you can do absolutely nothing about it. What else could go wrong? Oh - better not say it. You CAN still lose your head, you know. Apparently you have made it much longer than anyone before you since you don't see those frightful corpses all around you anymore. Just about anything may still wait you in the darkness, so you'd better be prepared for surprises ahead. Well, at least the ground seems a bit more solid here so that your riding goes a bit smoother.
  • Small progression
    Well, the second week starts out with a little better news. There's more troops available at the harbor village you started out with. You notice even some signs of compassion from the village leaders. What a relief. You feel saddened as you realize your only hope is to rely on these barbarians that you as a ruler have been overly neglective of for the past few years. You'll need an army to regain your power where you belong, the throneroom, but there's no army here to be found, just beggars, muggers, assassins and brutes. Sigh.

  • Comp start resources
    Day one resource equivalent. 30 Wood and ore, 15 of others and 30k gold.
  • Scouts return
    The assembled group of adventurers that was your pride and joy returns with what remains of them. A badly torn carcass on his shoulder, their leader returns seriously wounded. He falls flat on his face and whimpers:Everyone killed .. by the ferryman .. sounds of breaking bones .. no place to hide .. took too much time to unload the boat .. no escape .. trapped on a small landmass.. .. help me.. .. .. ickk .. .. After relaying his message, he dies as well. How on earth are you going to get past this menace?
  • Scouts
    You succeed in assembling a team of rowdy adventurers that share your curiosity in finding the man (or whatever it is) behind these events. They promise to report back within two weeks. You supply them with meager provisions for traveling expenses and wish them good luck.
  • Hellraiser
    It's becoming clearer and clearer that some hellish power must be behind this all mayhem you have witnessed. Remembering the infernal views portrayed by the Ancients, hell itself was guarded with the dreaded ferryman Charon. No amount of earthly goods was enough; he took everything you owned, including your life and soul itself! You shiver at the idea of meeting Charon in person some day, as things are certainly pointing at that direction. You also remember that according to the story, no one ever escaped The Ferryman's toll.

You apparently have no other option but to take over the lands over here in order to subvert the citizens of the Underworld to acknowledge you as their superior once again. Threatening the city also seems to have an effect on the globe above it - the link seems to get distorted the closer you get to it.

The ground itself seems to be covered with some sort of mist that hides all the details from sight. Advance very cautiously as your presence has most certainly been noticed by keen eyes all around you.

You notice something glowing very high above each city. The glowing objects are then connected with some sort of rays to a huge crystal that floats at about the center of this massive space. You don't know what they stand for, but it doesn't take an einstein to figure out that each one of the cities contributes to the whole. It would seem wise to try to sever the connections between the cities - if not for any other reason but just staring at the crystal you feel your mind filling up with pure hatred, greed and obscenity.
